Wisdom

If you indicated that your prayer request is for yourself or someone else who needs wisdom. We can find the promises of God to be trustworthy. Here are some promises that you may find to be helpful during this time.

  • I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. (Psalm 16:7).
  • In will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalm 32:8).
  • Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. (Psalm 51:6).
  • The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalm 111:10).
  • The Proverbs of Solomon... to know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equality; to give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels..... The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:1-7).
  • Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. (Proverbs 2:5-7).
  • She (wisdom) is more precious than rubies, and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon here; and happy is everyone that retaineth her. (Proverbs 3:13-18).
  • My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous..... When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: to deliver thee from the way of the evil man... (Proverbs 2:1-7, 10-12).
  • Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things. (Proverbs 28:5).
  • For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy. (Ecclesiastes 2:26).
  • He will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. (Isaiah 2:3).
  • If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5).
  • And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. (1 John 5:20)
