Fear

If you indicated that your prayer request is for yourself or someone else who is afraid. We can find the promises of God to be trustworthy. Here are some promises that you may find to be helpful during this time.

  • And Moses said unto the people, Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he shall shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more. (Exodus 14:13).
  • Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. (Deuteronomy 31:6).
  • Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. (2 Chronicles 20:15).
  • Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait I say, on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14).
  • The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. (Psalm 27:1,3).
  • Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. (Psalm 31:24).
  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1).
  • What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. (Psalm 56:3-4).
  • He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. (Psalm 91:4-6).
  • The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me? (Psalm 118:6).
  • But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. (Proverbs 1:33).
  • The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25).
  • When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:2).
  • I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass. (Isaiah 51:12).
  • And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou doest dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. (Ezekiel 2:6).
  • Be not afraid, only believe. (Mark 5:36).
  • Fear not little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32).
  • Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27).
  • Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37-39).
  • For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7).
  • The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:6).
  • For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? But and if ye suffer for righteouness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. (1 Peter 3:12-14).
  • Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation..... be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. (Revelation 2:10).
